17th Belgian Organic Synthesis Symposium
Namur, Belgium July 3-8, 2022
A workshop by Elsevier/Reaxys will be organised during the 17th Belgian Organic Synthesis Symposium (BOSS XVII). The workshop will be held in the main lecture room. Participation is free of charge, but we kindly ask you to register during your online registration.
The workshop will take place on Monday July 4 from 13:30 to 14:30 CEST.
The workshop will begin with some key updates and developments across the Tetrahedron family of journals from the Publisher. This overview will introduce Tetrahedron Chem, a new flagship Open Access title, announce a call for early career researchers, provide details on the annual Tetrahedron Medal and Young Investigator awards and confirm the dates and venue for the 2023 Tetrahedron Symposium.
Computer-assisted synthesis planning represents a growing area of research and with the rapid advancements of computing hardware and machine learning algorithms, new generation CASP tools hold the promise of bringing an innovative step change in synthesis planning and help chemists plan the strategy for making target molecules. In this workshop we present a case study involving drug-like compounds and natural products, examining the synthetic strategies that Reaxys Predictive Retrosynthesis applies towards these molecules. We will consider the routes proposed by Reaxys in comparison with previously used synthesis strategies within our research group.
